    Any use of The Hamper & Gift Place website is subject to the user agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions. These conditions shall apply to all online transactions between The Hamper & Gift Place and any person, firm or company ("the Purchaser") placing an order online with The Hamper & Gift Place for the manufacture and/or supply of any goods ("the Goods"). By accepting any order for Goods from the Purchaser, The Hamper & Gift Place agree to sell and the Purchaser agrees to purchase such Goods at the price stated on The Hamper & Gift Place website and on the sole basis of the terms and conditions of The Hamper & Gift Place stated herein. "Please note that The Hamper & Gift People is in no way connected to or associated with The Hamper People Limited". Company Details are as follows:

    In the unlikely event that an incorrect price is shown on our website, The Hamper & Gift Place reserves the right to abstain from fulfilling the order at that price. The customer will be notified by email informing them of the correct price, and given the choice to proceed with the order.

    Secure Online Payment
    The Hamper & Gift Place provide a secure payment system. All payment transactions will be processed by Google Checkout. Payments are submitted online using protocol 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer), the strongest commercially available level of encryption. The private data of the Purchaser will be encrypted at all times whilst in transit over the Internet.
    The Purchaser should see a solid yellow padlock in their browser status bar (after the point where they have pressed the Google Checkout button) which indicates that the encryption is taking place.
    After an order has been placed, a written confirmation will be sent to you by email, listing the contents of your order, delivery details, amount paid and our details. Goods will only be despatched once payment has been received in full.
    Credit/debit card payments can be made using Visa, Delta, Maestro, MasterCard, Solo and Visa Electron. 
    EU Cookie Compliance
    The Hamper and Gift People uses Google Analytics and Web-Stat to improve the efficiency of our website and make educated improvements where needed. Visitors to our website can disable cookies in their browser if they don’t wish for their visit to be tracked. We only use Google Analytics and Web-Stat to improve our site.

    Deliveries are made by appointed carriers or Royal Mail Standard Delivery depending on the product and destination and our liability is limited to delivery of the address/ building, not to individual recipients. The Hamper & Gift Place will endeavour to despatch orders within 24 hours of receipt, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, excluding bank and national holidays. Deliveries can arrive between 7am and 9pm, but typically arrive 9am - 5:30pm. We cannot specify an actual time as the drivers routes change daily and collection times are never guaranteed. A Saturday delivery can be arranged for a charge of £24.50, (this is what the couriers charge us to deliver on Saturdays), arrival is usually by 1:00pm. We do not send hampers containing fresh food (smoked salmon and cheeses) on Fridays, as it is not advisable for these items to remain in a depot, unrefrigerated over a weekend (very high risk that spoilage will occur) and we will not send any fresh food items outside the UK Mainland as the variable delivery timescales mean we cannot guarantee that fresh items will not perish in transit. To allow for weekends, holidays, time differences, delivery distance, customs clearance etc., it is strongly advised for purchasers to place orders "two working days or more" before a chosen delivery date.

    The Hamper & Gift Place's delivery charge for our hampers is £6.95. Once despatched, orders are delivered the next day within UK Mainland only (Monday to Friday), but this is not a guaranteed service. Please be aware, some "remote areas" of Scotland (deemed by our couriers) may take an extra day for delivery and may incur additional delivery charges for delivery to these areas. A separate invoice will be generated and emailed to you once we have booked in your order for despatch and delivery and know the additional amount required by our couriers. Orders placed on Fridays or over the weekend, will be despatched on the Monday and delivered on Tuesday. Orders placed on Thursdays will be despatched on Friday for delivery on Monday, providing it does not contain any fresh food items in the hamper (if it contains fresh food items, it will be despatched on Monday for a Tuesday delivery). Delivery charges to the Scottish Highlands and outside the UK Mainland are a bit higher and listed during the checkout process. Delivery times to these areas will be between 2-5 days, depending upon the destination. Please allow for this extra delivery time. It is highly advisable not to send cheeses or smoked salmon to these areas.
    Delivery charges for our handbags and toiletry gift baskets, using Royal Mail's Standard Parcel Delivery service is £3.95. Royal Mail's Standard Parcel delivery is 3 - 5 working days.

    The Hamper and Gift People is not liable for any failed or late deliveries. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

    For all delivery services, we always make every effort to deliver within the "estimated delivery date", but delays by our couriers are occasionally inevitable, we have no control over it and thus, we will not be liable for any loss caused to you by a late or failed delivery. If your order is not delivered within the "estimated delivery date" that we quote, please contact us by telephone or email and we will do our utmost to ensure that your order is received as quickly as possible. When placing your order, always allow an extra day or two for unexpected delays that may occur during delivery. Unfortunately, no courier gets it right 100% of the time.

    All deliveries will require a signature in order to complete the delivery. Please choose a delivery date when someone can be there to receive the gift especially, when you are sending cheeses or smoked salmon. Once an order has been despatched, we are no longer able to alter a delivery date. Delivering to a work address can sometimes ensure a recipient is in. Please ensure all delivery address details are completely accurate including house number, street name, town, county, postal code and the recipient's correct phone number. Having the delivery address phone number always helps couriers that might be having difficulties finding a particular address. Any delivery problems and redirections arising from incorrect address information supplied by the purchaser will incur additional charges to the purchaser and inevitable delay. A charge of £15.00 will be made for redelivery to the original or alternative address. An additional charge will be made for any items which become unsuitable for sale and need replacing (perishable and chilled items like smoked salmon and cheeses).

    If the recipient is not at home on the selected delivery date, the carrier will automatically leave a card explaining that they have tried to deliver your order and now require a phone call for confirmation and any new delivery instructions. At this point, it becomes the responsibility of the recipient to arrange for the collection or delivery of their parcel. The recipient can call the phone number on the card to arrange a better suited delivery date or arrange to pick up the order at their local depot where it's being stored. If not collected within 3 days, parcels are returned to us. Thereafter, the purchaser will incur a redelivery charge of £15.00 to the original or alternative address. The Purchaser will also be charged for any items which have become unsuitable for sale and need to be replaced (mainly perishable items such as smoked salmon and cheeses which require chilled temperatures). If no advisory communication is received from the purchaser whatsoever on having the parcel redelivered within 7 days, The Hamper and Gift People will have no option but to destroy the hamper.

    We are unable to deliver to PO Boxes or BFPO addresses.

    When requesting to deliver to a hospital or hotel, please include the recipient's room number and ensure before ordering that the recipient is not scheduled for discharge within the window of delivery. Please ensure you telephone the hospital or hotel before ordering to enquire about their policies with regard to delivering our products to their place of business.

    Shortly (usually 24 hours), after placing an order, a confirmation email, which lists the purchasers entire order, costs, tracking number and our contact details, will be sent to advise when the order is estimated to arrive and how they can track their order online with our courier. The purchaser will need to log onto the courier's website (which can be accessed by a link directly from the confirmation email) and enter their parcel tracking number which will be available on the date of despatch.

    In the event of a non-delivery within the UK due to an incorrect address or recipient information supplied by the purchaser or if the recipient specified by the customer refuses to accept the parcel, The Hamper & Gift Place reserve the right to make a charge of a minimum of 50% of the original order for re-directing or re-sending the order. In the event that the purchaser should cancel the order after despatch, The Hamper & Gift Place reserve the right to refund up to 50% of the original order value. The Hamper and Gift People will not be able to rectify any problems which may have occurred after 14 days from the date of purchase.

    Refunds / Cancellations
    We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases and the service we provide. If, for any reason within the first 7 working days of receiving, you are not happy with your order and wish to return it, we kindly ask to first, notify us by email to: sales@thehamperandgiftpeople.co.uk , explaining your reason for returning and send it back to our contact address, listed above. All items should be unused and in their original packaging, undamaged. We regret, that all Ripani handbag sales are final and cannot be refunded. Any refunds for hampers will take place within 30 days and be at the discretion of The Hamper & Gift Place. We regret that any fresh food items will not be refunded and will be deducted from the refund. Please ensure all returns are carefully packaged to prevent any damage. Postage or other return costs will be the customer's responsibility and will be reimbursed by us only in the case of damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied goods. All goods must be returned within 14 days of purchase otherwise, we will not be able to refund you.

    You may cancel an order in writing up to 24 hours before the requested delivery date. However, if we receive notice of your cancellation later than 24 hours before the delivery date, you may be too late to stop the delivery. To cancel your order if the goods have already been despatched, you must notify us by email to sales@thehamperandgiftpeople.co.uk. If you cancel your order, you must send the items, suitably packaged, unused and in their original packaging and undamaged, back to our contact address and we will refund the value of the goods. We regret that any fresh food items will not be refunded and will be deducted from the refund. Please ensure all returns are carefully packaged to prevent any damage. Postage or other return costs will be the customer's responsibility.

    Damaged Goods
    In the unlikely event that the goods are damaged, the purchaser must contact The Hamper & Gift Place within 3 days of receipt of goods. Damaged goods must be returned to our address above, suitably packaged. The Hamper & Gift Place will replace or refund the items concerned.

    Customer Service / Complaints
    The Purchaser should inform The Hamper & Gift Place immediately of any problems by telephone: 0845 0093130 or email: sales@thehamperandgiftpeople.co.uk The Hamper & Gift Place treat complaints as a top priority and will do our utmost to investigate any complaints as soon as they are brought to our attention. We will endeavour to rectify any problems as soon as possible. Please note, that the Purchaser is welcome to contact The Hamper & Gift Place on any issue relating to their order by telephone or email during normal business hours. The Hamper & Gift Place's operating hours are from 9:00am GMT to 5:00pm GMT, Monday to Friday, excluding any bank holidays.

    Occasionally, our suppliers may experience temporary shortages. The Hamper & Gift Place reserve the right to substitute any items included in our hampers with equivalent items of similar or greater value if,  for any reason those listed on the web site are unavailable.

    Force Majeure
    The Hamper & Gift Place will exercise every reasonable effort to meet the requested delivery date. However, we will not be liable for any loss or damage due to delays or failure to ship resulting from any cause beyond our reasonable control such as, but not limited to, compliance with laws or regulations, acts of God, severe weather conditions, earthquake, flood, fire, acts or omissions of the Purchaser, acts of civil or military authority, threat and/or act of terrorism, malicious damage, judicial action, defaults of sub-contractors or suppliers, road work delays or accidents, plane crash, adverse traffic conditions, mechanical breakdown, labour disputes or strikes, failure or delays in transportation, embargoes, war and/or any other military action, riots and/or any civil commotion.

    Privacy Policy
    The Hamper & Gift Place collect the information provided by the Purchaser at the time of ordering and use this information lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. Information is collected by The Hamper & Gift Place to process the Purchaser's order and also to provide the highest level of customer service possible. The Hamper & Gift Place does not email marketing material to the Purchaser unless prior consent has been obtained. As part of keeping our customers updated on products and services, a bi-annual newsletter is used (this has been repeatedly requested by many of our customers). If you wish to unsubscribe, simply email us sales@thehamperandgiftpeople.co.uk and we'll have your address removed from our data file.
